I just returned from a visit in Wyoming. I was driving near Clearmont and saw a rattler in the road. I decided to go back and get his rattles. As I was getting out, a spark of wisdom led me to bring my .45 revolver with snake shot just in case he was not totally dead. When I got close, I learned he was very healthy. He had not been run over, he was just sunning himself. He instantly coiled to strike without rattling. Post mortem examination revealed that his rattles had been damaged or run over. There were only two buttons. Bummer.
