I know that the training is available here through Gillette College. I don't think it takes long to get your certificate. Call 307-875-6067 and they can give you more info. The jobs are certainly here!!!! Good luck! We love Gillette!

A lot of companies will pay for your MSHA training if you're hired first. I would call about the job and ask before paying for it yourself. Plus if they put you through the training, sometimes you get paid for it (like being at work). It's a 24-hour class that you can do in 2 days or 3 days.

There are several sources of this training. My favorite is through NEW Electric. They've opened their MSHA, OSHA, and CPR classes to the public and have excellent material and trainers. Their New Miner MSHA training includes CPR/First Aid (2yr certification) for no additional charge and their training plan is complete. You only have to complete the site-specifics for the mines you go to and not an additional 3 hour course with additional fees. Deleted URL

make sure to check with the employer. peabody will many times make you go through the new miner training anyways, even if you already have your MSHA card. several of the guys in the class i went through had recently gone through the gillette college program and went through the 4 day class Peabody has.
