well i would think you could be a conservative and still be an atheist, though i have never heard of wyoming having any large # of atheists.most of the counties in the state are very republican.most of the cities in the western quarter of the state are 50-70% lds[mormon]so they would tend to be fairly conservative and religious.in most of the state even the religious arent very in your face about it.wyoming is pretty much a live and let live state as long as you mind your own business .

I don't know any atheists. Course, I don't go down the street polling people either. haha

Abortions, wouldn't know to much about that. But most of the towns are pretty small in that everybody knows your business. I live in the third largest county and we only have 15000 people. So word spreads faster then the paper can print it.

We have conservative Congress and Senate delegates. But the State gov is more liberal. But it's in title only. What I mean by that is that although our Gov is a Democrate, you really can't tell what side of the fence he's on. He's more for making this a better place to live then he is worrying about Dem or Repub and what people thing.

Most folks up here, vote for the person they think will do the best job, regardless of their party. I register independent, but I vote for the best person.

Old sailer saying, She's pretty much even keel here.

There is only one abortion clinic in wyoming - Jackson. at least that is what I heard. Most people go to surrounding states. This is a point of contention with liberal womens groups that think there should be better access.....not that I am a big fan of abortion.

I know. I kind of ride the fence on that one myself. Just not straight in my mind yet. I'm against killing innocent victoms. But I'm also against violating individual rights depending on the circumstance. Who knows. I just can't stand on a firm commitment.

Maybe if somebody could come up with some firm rules, I could take a stance. But so far, no stance is firm. haha

On many personal issues, I think Wyoming is pretty conservative.

We don't see "big government" as a replacement for personal responsibility.

For the most part, state funds go for schools and necessary infrastructure in the state, not social engineering and similar projects. Helps keep the tax burden low on the residents.

Party affiliation means less here than in other states. What someone does is far more important that what they say.
