Not trying to disrespect anyone or their beliefs, but be very careful if you are not Mormon but end up in a Mormon area... In my personal experience you may not be very welcome if you are not Mormon, or are not willing to convert to their beliefs... Once again, that is my experience only, so take it for what it's worth, info. only...

Since we are on the subject.....I've 'heard' that the mormon people in and around Lovell and in the other small towns bordering the Mont. border practice polygamy - one of those wyo rumors. Just wondering if anyone else has knowledge to this?

Star Vally is a beautiful area! We lived in Aline for 3 years. We are not LDS but never had anybody treat us badly. Actually the opposite was true. Afton area has many homes for sale that can accomodate large families since the LDS folks normally have a large family.
Only bad thing is shopping. You have to drive over to Idaho Falls for the big stores. (75 miles+/-)
Star Vally Ranch is a place to start if you want to play golf and don't mind bad mexican food! <g>

Apostolic United Brethren - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wikipedia's license, the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL)

This link lists Lovell,Wy as one of the locations of this sect...

Wow I was shocked when I found this... I know this post is from several months back, but I came across your post and thought I would give you a link to answer your question... The "Apostolic United Brethren" is the polygamous sect that lives in Lovell, Wy and there is also a group in Pinedale,MT. According to the census data, Pinedale's dominant religion is FLDS and Lovell has a small community of Polygamists, it is not the dominant religion, but they are still there...

I just got done reading the book "Escape" by Carolyn Jessop and how she fled the FLDS F stands for Fundamentalist for those that don't know... and so I have been doing some research online and I found out there was polygamy in Wyoming...

I about fell over when I found this out, I had no idea! Learn something new every day...
