My truck stopped on the drive to take my wife to work this morning. Apparently the diesel jelled up. First time that's ever happened to me, and I've been driving the same truck for 8+ years. It was -19 with a "Real Feel" of -50. Brrrrrr! Luckily, it made it to within a block of my son's house, so we were able to walk there and borrow a car from him. We didn't get much snow, maybe a couple inches, but the cold... and the wind....

That happening to my husband and I last year when we forgot to plug in our block heater.
Do you have a block heater on your truck? and do you add diesel additive? We thought all gas stations put additive in the winter, but some don't. So we have a spare bottle of anti-gel additive.

Sometimes you gotta let your truck warm up for 20-25 minutes in this cold of weather...

Glad you made it close to your son's house though, that must have not been fun...

Sorry. I didn't see your post until just now. Yes, I have a factory block heater and it was plugged in. I'd also let it run for 10-15 minutes before taking off. Everything was fine for the first half mile; then it started sputtering and finally came to a stop about a half mile further.

I haven't been driving the truck much this winter, and the last time I'd fueled up was in late October. When I finally got it started, after the weather warmed up a little, I filled it and added the anti-gel.
