great lakes aviation
My wife and i were wondering if there were any fairly regular users of the Sheridan-Denver direct flight offered by Great Lakes? We understand that invariably all flights will occasionaly be delayed, but chronic problems are difficult to track. Also, how long has their been four daily flights?

We've had enough chronic issues (EVERY single flight... well, we had one that shocked us that there wasn't a problem, but that was one out of maybe 60) with the airline between Denver and Riverton that we refuse to use them. All told, I think we have collected about $1000 in vouchers due to legitimate complaints/issues ~ some we tried using (a PITA itself) and the rest we sold.
While that doesn't directly help you with the Sheridan aspect, you'll encounter the same kinds of issues in Denver that we do. They have the worst gate agents I've encountered anywhere (customer DIS-service agents, rude at best and insulting at worst).
We now drive to Denver anytime we want to fly anywhere.

I have used Great Lakes MANY times and the only issue I ever had was ONE late flight departure. I live in Cheyenne and fly to Denver if needed, otherwise I drive.
Other than the plane being SMALL and the flight(most times) bumpy I have had good experiences with Great Lakes...........a.k.a., Rocky Mountain Scareways or The Vomit Comet!

I've flown the Sheridan-Denver route a few times in the last year and was on time for my connecting flight for all of them. I did, however, go to the airport once when I overheard the announcement that the plane was stuck in Denver due to weather. During the colder months that can be expected. Overall the experiences have been good.

I have used Great Lakes several times and they have lost my luggage numerous times. In general most people I know fly out of Billings to avoid all the issues with them. Last time I used them, had a delay in Denver from 1pm to 8 pm and our luggage still didnt make it to Sheridan until the next day. Have also encountered rude agents at their counter. I kept trying them because it is real nice not to have to drive 2 hrs to catch a plane and not pay any parking but in the long run I am not sure that is worth all the frustration they seem to cause me.

While I've flown Great Lakes Cheyenne-Denver a number of times, the cost (approx $100 per flight) is hardly justified even with free parking in Cheyenne's lot for a trip when I can drive to DIA in 2.5 hours and pay for parking in the outlying lots with a discount coupon price. The only times I've used them is when somebody else was picking up the tab for my flights.
They've never been late, never lost my luggage, the counter people have been very nice ... I've had no problems with their service in Cheyenne.
