I just moved to Worland with my little family and have a little insight to what it is like moving from the big city and trying to find a place to live. We lived in Medford Oregon and my husband accepted a job offer here. I spent two months looking in the newspaper and checking with the different realty companies in town for a rental. We got really hung up because we have a dog. It was a miracle to find someone who would accept a pet. You will have much better luck finding a rental without pets. I did find out that not all of the rentals in the newspaper are listed on the internet edition so it may be better to subscribe if you have time. We finally ended up finding a place through the help of Hake realty.
It was a major culture shock moving here. It has a very small town feeling and I had a very hard time adjusting the first month. However, we found that making trips to Cody or Billings on the weekends keeps us satisfied for the "city" cravings. The other nice thing, no traffic or waiting in line at the tanning salon!
It is pretty cold, I wont lie. It hit -38 in Dec-Jan, however I am suprised that I have already gotten used to it and 50 degrees feels really warm because the sun is always shining!
I dont know much else since I am only going into my third month here.
