Default Feasible to commute to Cheyenne from Laramie?

All,

My boyfriend and I are most likely moving to Laramie in June, and neither of us is very familiar with Wyoming at all. I'm looking at job possibilities, and I'm wondering if it is at all feasible to commute from Laramie to Cheyenne? I would think this might be tricky in the winter but would be interested in thoughts form those who know best.

Thanks!

That stretch of road closes often in the winter, sometimes for hours and sometimes for days. From early May until late September it would be fine.

In an average winter, it's NOT feasible to commute between Laramie and Cheyenne if you need to be someplace on a scheduled shift.

There will be too many road closures, some lasting for more than a day, that will make the trip impossible.

Additionally, there will be a fair number of days where I-80 will not be closed, but the trip will still be very treacherous over the pass. It's not trivial when the road disappears in the wind driven snow and you can't see where you're going ... in addition to the very strong winds which can blow vehicles off the road when the surface is slick.
