Default My spot in Wyoming?

I'm contemplating a move to Wyoming this summer. I'm originally from the Seattle area but spent several years in Colorado and have visited Wyoming on more than 1 occasion.

I would like to know what part of Wyoming may work for me based on the following:

I am a single male and although I'm pretty independent I don't want to feel like an outcast either.

I don't mind hard physical labor but am unable to stand for long periods of time due to lower back problems so working in the social service sector or hospitality is my niche

If I move, I won't have a lot of money to start with so, while I don't need a lot of money...I will need to find a job shortly after I arrive (unless I have one to move to

Actually, I would love to help run and manage a campground/rv park but most of those places use work campers but I thought I would "throw that in there" just in case somebody knows someone etc.

Try Laramie. It's in the southeastern part of the state, has a young population, and is home to the U of Wyoming...so it's a college town. There's some stunningly beautiful terrain in the area. They recently built a bunch of new hotels so they might be looking for some help. Another good thing about Laramie is that it's really close to Colorado's Front Range should you want a bigger city. Hope this helps!

Perhaps this is a good time to contact folks in the seasonal hospitality business ... directly.

Tourism is a big industry in Wyoming, so there's lots of jobs available, especially in the Western ... tourist areas, focusing on Jackson, Yellowstone, Cody, etc.

Some of these seasonal jobs could lead to more permanent full-time employment. Many offer housing or reasonable access to housing. Since you don't have a lot of money to put into this move, these types of job situations may work to your advantage.

Wyoming at work online site will also list a lot of resort operations looking for seasonal help.

Laramie or Cheyenne doesn't strike me as a likely spot for your goals ... way too many college students in Laramie competing for the jobs available, and Cheyenne has a big labor pool of very qualified military retirees willing to work for cheap. Without a lot of money to make the move here, you're looking at a problem for inexpensive/affordable housing, and you've ruled out working at the high paying physical labor jobs in the extractive industries in other areas with high housing and cost of living expenses. The hospitality industry isn't exactly a high-paying segment of the economy, so your cash flow will be tight.

Best of luck in your relocation.
