Default Casper Events

Hi Folks. I'm still plugging away on my book situated near Casper. And I'd like to hear from Casper folks about events in the spring that they think are fun for families.

I've heard there's some kind of duck race. What's that about? And a high school rodeo championship? What else might add a little local depth to my book? And if you can give me as many details as possible, it would really help! Thanks.

Piper

p.s. So far, I have 5 dead in my book. And two just missed dying by a frog's hair -- but they're the hero and heroine, so they can't die in my book!

You buy a duck number. Rubber ducks with numbers on them are put in the Platte river. First ducks to float to the finish win prizes.

So, do you get to pick the number you want? And if it's not available, you keep picking until you ask for an available number? Or do you just get assigned a number?

Also, how much is it? And does the money go to the Rotary Club? Or where, if not there?

Also, how many ducks are there?

And are there any other details you can tell me about? Do people name their ducks, for example? Or do certain families get the same number every year? Anything traditional like that?

Thanks!

I think you should poke around the website I provided a bit. a bit. Or call the rotary club.

I tried to buy a duck once. I had to go to bank to buy one. They were sold out, so no duck race for me. If I get one this year, I'm gonna name him "PiedPiper".

Default Quacking Piper

Gee, I'm honored...I think.

It looks like they raise a fair amount of money with the event -- 3000 ducks at $20 bucks a quack starts looking like real money.

As for naming the duck, well, I'll root for him or her. You'll hear my quacking all the way from the Shenandoah Valley!

Thanks. I'm sending an email to the guy listed on that site.

Best,
Wendy
