Thanks once again for your informative, knowledgeable response sunsprit

I'm glad to know that a 4x4 isn't a necessity so we don't spend more money on something we don't need....having never lived that far up north, I was not sure what to expect.

We haven't decided yet if we will buy at our leave location or there in Cheyenne area. My husband thinks we may have more options at the leave location though. So we will just have to see....I tend to worry about these things in advance while he just deals with it when it happens...lol

I know I'll probably be back with more questions, but you've helped tremendously so far. Thanks again.

After doing a little researching on rental housing in the area, I'm a little concerned and would like to ask if getting a 3 bd 2 ba single home for under $1000 a month is going to be difficult?

Most everything I've seen so far seems to be too expensive or it's an apartment/townhome...and I've seen many more listings with only 2 bedrooms.....trying to decide if we can find decent housing off post or if base housing would be a better option.....

My husband is not an officer, but is an E-5.
There are a number of nice homes in Cheyenne under $1000.00 a month, just look around. You can check the local newspaper online, Wyoming Tribune-Eagle. We use to live in Cheyenne, and we are moving back there. Cheyenne really is a great place, 99 percent of the people I met are really great, the schools are wonderful, my son went to East High School. The avenues are really a nice area to look at and still be close to the base, but like people said, there is no long drive in Cheyenne, everything is so close. Good luck to you on your move, be safe, you will love Cheyenne.
