work & travel - summer 2009 - exchange/J1 students in jackson, wy

i need to hear some pices of advice, so everyone is welcome to share any information he/she has.
first, i.d like to hear the advantages vs. disadvantages for choosing jackson, wy.
then, i.d like to know any low cost sites/links where i could purchase a round.trip ticket (lake city/denver - jackson, and vice.versa).
i am interested as well in renting a car, but i have very few information regarding this aspect. what companies/agencies would you reccomand for rents; how much would be the cost for the whole summer?
eventually, what places are among the best to visit (must seen) around the area (inclusive the nearby states)?
