Default internet in gillette?

well, we're getting ready to move out there, and our friends are bugging us to make sure we are connected soon after we get out there.

i've been looking at some options, such as wireless or DSL through visionary communications...

any reviews/thoughts on the different options in the area?

It depends on where you'll be living. If you're within a mile of downtown Gillette, DSL would be your best bet; outside that radius and wireless will likely be better. Give Visionary your address and they can make a suggestion. We tried DLS when it was first offered, but it wasn't much better than dial-up. When wireless became available shortly thereafter, we switched to it (8 years ago?). We've still had problems from time to time and have talked about trying DSL again, but VCN then came out with a faster wireless and switched us to it.

We live in Sutherland Estates, just south of Lakeview Road and west of 4J Road. They say we're right on the edge of good DSL reception, and that the radius isn't precise, as sometimes the phone (& DSL) cables aren't routed directly. I've checked my speed five times in the past year, and all have tested between 1505 kbps and 1860 kbps.

For us, Bresnan works well. That way we have our internet, cable tv with all the DVR's we need (don't know how I ever got by without that!), as well as our house phone all in a nice package. We wouldn't have a house phone but felt we needed a local # as with our cells we kept our Montana #'s. We are happy with our Bresnan internet as well as TV. I like have it all in one easy package, one bill, etc.
