wyoquilter, as I read further on in my book it does mention the Chisholm Trail
I will post what my book says later/ but it mentions The Goodnight Loving Trail first--so I did not read further/my bad
And I think everyone remembers the Chisholm Trail name-but I did not know it as a cattle drive trail--my attempt at a apology in history

That is okay, I think that the Goodnight-Loving Trail ran along the Chisholm Trail as well as a couple of other trails upon further google investigation. But from what I can tell from the maps I found for the Chisholm the trail ended in Kansas, so I don't think it actually came into WY. Instead other offshoot trails of the Chisholm came into CO, WY and MT.

What happened for the first time in the 1800"s (not naming the year might stump you ) in Wyoming, that has since added a word or phrase to the dictionary?

This was a tough one! I thought about these:

Women's sufferage (1869)
First National Park? (Yellowstone - 1872)
Range wars? (Buffalo, 1892)

But I was pretty sure I'd strike out with 'em.

...And then I suddenly came across it...

YELLOW PAGES! Cheyenne, 1883. A Cheyenne printer ran out of white newsprint when printing a directory and substituted canary. I would *guess* this "printer" was A. R. Johnson and T. N. Tuthill, who published the Cheyenne Directory in that year.

Did I get it?

In keeping with tough questions, I just learned this while researching the last question:

What was the name of the first hotel in the world to feature electric lamps in each room and in what town was it located? (Hint: The town was also the first in the world to use electric lights before gas.)
