Well the oldest rodeo in Wyoming is the Lander Pioneer Rodeo and it started in 1893 but I don't know if it the first one to pay the cowboys.

Let me tell you the ground can come up hard and fast-even at 14. Now some friends of ours, Polly Exely (she was my mom's friend and played in Polly's band-they were there playing one of the bars and thats why we were in Douglas) her son Tommy had been practicing for this rodeo on a calf. He walked up to the caretaker of the horses and said he wanted the hardest riding horse the guy had. Then told the guy he was going ride him for 8 seconds. The guy points at his toughest horse and said he is the one and I will pay you double if you ride him--he did.
I found out later my grandparents were in the stadium watching-ouch. They were shocked when they heard our names on the loud speaker.
My grandpa was a horse breaker and rode rough string on cattle drives/ages ago!
He told me the hardest horse he thought was to ride was one that came out running full blast, hits the brakes and starts bucking.

The town is Basin, WY and it got it's nickname because the town began a tree and shrub campaign and a "lilac town" drive starting way back in 1910 and now the streets are lined with lilac hedges and shade trees.

Okay, I think I have a tough one for you all.
With no real formal training (actual college education in this field) and only going by what she learned while working for one for 5-6 years, Who was one of the first if not the 1st woman to practice dentistry in WY?
Hint: she started her practice near Thermopolis in 1904.

Close enough. Her name was Caroline Fuller. She came to the USA from Checkoslovakia around 1883. She grew up in Omaha, NE where she attended grade school, high school and business college. She worked for Dr. Bailey, a dentist in Omaha, for 5-6 year. She came out to WY in 1904 to visit friends and that is when she met her husband George Fuller. They lived near Thermopolis in a little place called Lost Cabin.
She learned enough from Dr. Bailey to be able to pull teeth, do fillings and make impressions for dental plates. Dr. Bailey sent her the dentistry tools she needed. She never had a need to put out a sign for her practice as the cowboys always seemed to find her without it.
Now it's your turn to ask a question.
