Sorry to be running to late with the answer, but I was camping up on top over the weekend.
Lander is absolutely correct. Lander was the first to pay the contestants. It was called the "Granddaddy of em all." Cheyenne was the "Daddy of em all".
Your turn.

No worries, we already figured that Lander was the correct answer and played on through. Now we are just waiting on the last poster to get an answer correct to post their question.
So where did you camp at? Did you see anything interesting? I'm sure you also went fishing while up there. If so where did you fish and what all did you catch? I hope you had a good time.
I'm heading to San Diego on Wed. to go see my son graduate from Marine Corp bootcamp. I'll be coming back late Sat. night. I'm going to be busy the next couple days getting things ready to go. I'm so excited and so proud too.

No fishing on this trip. 4 wheeling. Camped at the gravel pits just before Schuller. 4 wheeled over to Riley's Point and down Dry Fork over to Lick Creek and back on Saturday. Just kind of lazed around camp and watched grandkids 4 wheel around local to camp.

Sunlight Basin? Clarks Fork? Nordquist's Ranch?
It would have to be NW Wyoming, somewhere east of Yellowstone.

I believe Hemmingway's Wyoming "Walden's Pond" was the L-Bar-T Ranch owned by Lawrence and Olive Nordquist. It was located just East of Yellowstone National Park.

You and I were posting about the same time. I would have posted sooner, but I had a phone call right as I clicked on Quote.

16 miles east of Casper is the Bucknum road. Go up it 13 or 14 miles. On the right it a two bedroom log cabin and some out lying sheds with about a two acre pond. On the highway is a metal plaque stating this is Hemingways retreat for many summers in wyoming. Beleive me there is or would have been solitude there for sure.
