She might have been famous for prohibition, but the answer I'm looking for is:

Nellie Tayloe Ross was the first female that was appointed Director of the US Mint.

Sorry, it took so long to get back to you, I went camping with the family this weekend.

You are correct with 1913 being the year. Now it's your turn.

We camped up by a lake we were told today is called Duck Lake (don't know if that is it's actaul name or not). We didn't even know it existed until last Sun. and we found it by accident. Hubby tried finding it on a map but he doesn't remember seeing the name Duck Lake on the map. As you come up Redgrade there is a turn to the left just before the bridge over the West fork of Big Goose. You follow that road back maybe a mile at most and there it is. It seemed pretty popular though.

We fished there, as well as Hiked into Sawmill Lakes and fished along the Big Goose. We had better luck on Big Goose than on either lakes. It was windy and the water was rough on the lakes. But we did catch two nice sized rainbow out of Duck Lake. Saw several nice sized Brookes swim by us at the smaller of the two Saw Mills. If we would have had a net we could have just scooped them right out of the water.

All we saw for the most part was 5 mule deer, squirrles, chipmunks and a bunch of frogs no bigger than a 50 cent piece. We did see a cow moose last weekend up where we camped.

All we caught was 8 fish all total. My one daughter caught 3 of them herself. All of us caught at least 1. If it hadn't been windy I think we would have been able to have caught more. We would have fished more on the Big Goose, but it was so busy most of the weekend with other fishermen.

Overall we had a pretty good time. It was the first time that my youngest (and she is almost 9 yo.) has actually gotten to go camping so she had a blast. Last Sunday was the first time in several years that we have actually been able to get up to the mountains even just for a drive.

We are already thinking about where we will camp the next time, which will probably be next year, I'm hoping. I don't know if we will have another weekend free to go again this year. I'd like to get up there a little earlier in the summer before all the fish are over fed and the lakes and creeks are over fished.

Well lets see if you can come up with some trivia about that area. I probably won't be able to answer it, but I'd try if you come up with a question.

Sounds like Dome Lake. Was it fairly large?

It was pretty small, maybe 1/4 the size of the smaller Sawmill lakes if that. There was a couple of ponds nearby, one of which was on the right driving in maybe a block-block and half before the lake. The other was across the road from the lake and sat back off the road maybe a block. It looked as if there was once a road that trucks and cars could at one time could drive on, that continued past the lake, but it was blocked off by large rocks so only 4 wheelers and mototcycles could continue on.

There was no road marker to say what road it was, maybe it was knocked down or something. Hubby said it was maybe a half mile into the lake off the main road. I'm not super great with distances especially when you are being jostled around, in that case the distance always seems longer than it actually is.

Twin lakes I'm betting. If you get by them there's a lake called Conely.
