Wyoming allowed womens suffrage and the right to vote and the rest of the United States did not want to accept those conditions.

Otto Franc (also spelled Frank), arrested Butch Cassidy for stealing horses, Cassidy was imprisoned for 18 months, released January 1896. Count Otto Franc von Lichtenstein, (1846-1903), in 1879 he set up the first cattle ranch in the Greybull River Valley near Meeteetse; its success led to Franc becoming a major Wyoming cattle baron. Franc was alleged to have assisted in financing the Johnson County War. In the 1890's he served as Big Horn County justice of the peace. The Otto Franc diaries are housed at the McCracken Research Library, Buffalo Bill Historical Center. The four original journals (dating from 1886 to 1903) of document his daily activies while running the famous Pitchfork Ranch.

Well, actually, no. Otto Fran arrested, but didn't convict. An attorney convicted. But that was really good info.

Bill Simpson is the only man to win a conviction against Butch Cassidy for horse theft in 1894. Bill Simpson is the father of former WY Governor Milward Simpson and grandfather of former WY Governeor Alan Simpson.
