Try doing a search. I think you'll find a bunch of info on that area. There have been several threads discussing that vary area.

Homeschooling? Probably a good idea, it's a long way to any school from the area you're looking at.
Winters? Brutal to outrageous. Cold temps and strong winds.
Wind? Right in the heart of some of the highest average wind energy density area of North America.
Alcohol abuse? How much do you plan on bringing in with you and drinking? You won't have a lot of social opportunities there at bars because there's not many local bars in the area ... nor a close-by 24 hr liquor store with a drive-up window.

That's an interesting list of resources about Wheatland, CptnRn.
And I'm really impressed by the local high school's report that "85% of the students participating in the counseling program at critical grade levels (elementary to middle school, middle school to high school) didn't fail any classes". Wow, that's impressive, isn't it? 85% didn't fail any of their classes! of course, not all students participated in those counseling groups ...
But what's the relevance of all this to someone seeking to "home school" in a desolate area 21 miles out of Wheatland? This is an awfully sparse area of Platte county, you know ... if you've been following the threads about the developments in the area.
