any otr drivers?? need transport for 1 small dog..
I have been approved to adopt an abused miniature dachshund. He is in Florida, me in Wyoming. I can't fly him here due to the summer heat- the airlines don't transport animals in baggage- too risky. I can't put him in the cabin unless there is a passenger with him. I have tried PilotsNPaws, Operation Roger. The dog rescues only do local transport. I really want to add him to the family. Thanks

The most important thing is not to get a bad guy. I suggest calling Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah. There's a large staff and they should be able to point you to some suitable people and groups. Don't trust your dog to a stranger.
You don't say where you live in WY, but two other leads might be the Park County Humane Society in Cody and the Rock Springs Humane Society. They're both No kill shelters.
I have heard of networks of people who do transport rescue animals, and I hope this will help. And again, I must say: do not trust anyone who is not personally known to you or to a verifiable humane society or rescue group.

You could try the pets board on something like RVNet. I've heard of RVers sometimes transporting rescued pets across country. Good luck.
