There are a few other places in the state with dense forest, but most of them are public land with limited private ownership. This makes the areas of Wyoming that are densely forested generally very expensive. In general, those that are reasonably affordable will be in areas that are very remote and that have very limited resources nearby.

I disagree. I would recommend Park County. Cody, Powell, Clark, and Meeteetse. There is a community college in Powell which is about 30 mins from Cody. Cody is just outside of the Beartooth Mountains, where Yellowstone is. You can drive 20 minutes and be in thick deep forest. The views are spectacular. The fishing is great, hiking is rewarding, and neighbors are friendly. The cost of living is not too high in Cody. The average starting wage is $9/hour. A receptionist would probably have the potential to make $11 or $12/hour. Cody and Powell are friendly places with Billings MT only 1 hour and 45 mins away, and a regional airport in Cody. Buffalo and Sheridan are very nice as well. They have short access to the Bighorn mountains which are wonderful. I love both mountain ranges, but the Beartooth range is so rugged and amazing all around, it is hard to beat. In park county, you would have to travel about 2 hours to get to the Bighorn range, we do it all the time.

so Park County is my recommendation.
