Default Powell Informatin

Hi folks,

This is my first post and hope you can give me some information about Powell. We plan to move there in March and picked it because my wife and I wanted a small friendly town where you can live without paying an arm and a leg to do so. Some years ago we lived in Douglas for awhile and its a nice town but thought we may like Powell better.

I'd especially like to hear from folks who currently live there or have lived there in the not to distant future. I'd like to know things like crime, friendly people, nice downtown, restaurants and general overview.

My wife and I are young retirees (50 something) and simply want a nice country place to live. We plan to eventually buy a small ranch, maybe run some buffalo and become the ultimate pilgrim!

Thanks for your help...

A number of years ago I lived in Powell - liked the town better than touristy Cody. Has great medical care - easy going people and the community college is the best part. You can audit courses there. Much smaller than Douglas and nowhere near the interstate. But it's easy drive up to Billings for major shopping.

Thank you for the information it is very much appreciated... Do you have any idea what you'll pay for home rental? I've snooped around the newspaper but it's hard to get a feel for what you would expect to pay for like a 3 bed 2 bath. Do you have a feel for it?

Thank you,

Harry

Harry - the easiest way is www.powelltribune.com
and cruise thru the classifieds. Also there's a number of real estate agencies in town that do rentals.

Hey you guys are the best... If you can think of any other little tid-bits about Powell I'd love you to pass the along. I understand Powell was one of the top 100 cities in the country or something like that. Does anyone happen to know where I could find that write up?

Thanks again,

Harry

Linton's is where everyone goes for supplies - feed, tack, clothing Lintons

The grocery in town was Blairs

The fuel stop was a card-lock- the one I used was the Sinclair station - they'd bill me monthly
