last spring my family went to see our land close to Rock River... one thing I saw was a lot of buildings closed/for sale maybe, I am thinking about buying one but don't know how to go about it... we have 70 ac and plan to move to it in 5-7 years. My husband is Air Force. I have thought about opening up a farmers market, any thoughts on that?
BTW we loved what we saw in the area, my kids got to see a grasshopper for the first time, it was so funny, they wanted to take it home (we live in Alaska) I grew up in New Mexico and grew up with grasshoppers so don't really think about them, you should have seen my kids running around picking flowers ect, we checked out all of the open places, Everyone looked happy to see us, it was just a great trip all together... ![]() |

rock river, like a lot of towns in that area have been trying to stave off ghosttown status for a long time.while i dont think there is anything "wrong"with the area,i dont think you will find much business sucess there unless you are using it as a lowcost basecamp for some sort of business that doesnt depend on the local population for much of your business.there is very little tourism and a very small local population
