Default looking for a recommendation for a mechanic in Gillette

well, the clutch is going out in my vehicle, so I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation on a mechanic in Gillette to go to?

Well, just from my experience here this past year & a half, I couldn't believe who we found (through a friend) to be the best we've dealt with. It's the guys at the Midas shop!!! When we lived in Montana Midas wasn't the most desireable of places to take your vehicle. We had taken my car to a couple of other mechanics here in town and were told that the rear end was going out, there was nothing we could do until it actually happened (it was making a "jerk" as we accelerated to take off) and it would cost MEGA bucks to fix. Then the friend suggested going to Midas. They told us that it was the in the drive shaft, which we suspected at first. Unfortunately, Ford doesn't make just the part we needed, we had to get an entire shaft. Midas found out how much one was new (close to $1000) and suggested we go to a junk yard they recommended. We found one for $120 off a car with very few miles on it! They were very reasonable when it came to installing it. So, to make a long story short, don't think of Midas just for mufflers. They treated us well!

By the way, mine was on my 2004 Ford Escape, small 4x4 SUV. A couple of the mechanics we went to used to work for major car dealerships, so just because they had that experience doesn't always mean they are right, I guess!

I dont know about other stuff, but do not buy your muffler from midas.
They put on exhaust pipes that rust. Exhaust pipes should be stainless steel so as not to rust. The pipe rusts and that breaks the muffler. You take it back to midas and they will tell you that since the pipe broke the muffler it is not warranteed. I will never get any kind of work done at midas; [Mod Cut]
