We come from an area where most people have a lot of kids... the average being about 13 - 14 kids. We only have seven wonderful kiddos and think that is plenty for us. Are there 4 or 5 bedroom houses that are affordable in Wheatland? Also, we noticed there is a lot of wind but we have also lived in Amarillo, Tx so it shouldn't be a big problem. We were wondering, though, if there is a lot of dust blowing in all that wind. Thanks for any info you may have!

Not too long ago, I saw a six bedroom house a little bit north of town that was selling (asking price) for about $220,000. I don't remember the details exactly, but it had farmhouse style architecture, and appeared to be in decent shape, though I only saw it from the road. IIRC, it was listed by the Century 21 office in Wheatland. A quick Google search should provide their info for you.
The town of Wheatland has about 3500 people, and provides most of your basic amenities, such as shopping, dining, hospital, golf course, parks, and even car dealerships. There are no "big box" stores in Wheatland, but in my opinion, they are better suited to the city than to small towns.
You can purchase most of what you need in town. There is a Pamida store which is like a smaller version of KMart. For groceries, there are a Safeway and a "Food Pride" market, as well as a few convenience stores. For hardware and lumber, there's an Ace, a "DoIt Best" center, and a True Value, as well as a couple other independent stores.
When it comes to restaurants, there are quite a few, too. Fast food is covered with a Burger King, an Arby's, an A&W, a Taco John's, a Pizza Hut, and a Subway. In addition, there are several other restaurants, too.
Other things in Wheatland that you might be interested in include the Laramie Peak Museum, the Golf Course, the Fairgrounds, and the area around and including Lewis Park. There is an exercise course, an amphitheater, a playground, several picnic shelters, a skate park, tennis courts, and community swimming pool in the area.
If you need something that Wheatland doesn't provide, there are lots of other places to go that are less than two hours away. Torrington, Cheyenne, and Laramie are pretty close. A little further out are Casper (Wyoming), Scottsbluff (Nebraska), and Fort Collins (Colorado). Denver, Colorado is about three hours away for those things you can't find any closer.
To answer your question about crops, the things I've noticed include corn and hay. I'm sure there are plenty of other crops, too, but I've never really paid attention to them to see what they were when I've been in the area.
