Default About Casper, WY??

I graduated college this previous May and now have a couple of job opportunities possibly worth moving for. One of these is a flying job (pilot) in Casper, WY. I have never been there, so I was hoping someone could give me their opinion about the city and its surroundings. I currently am 23, and so I also wanted to inquire about the availability of entertainment, shopping, the night scene for younger adults, recreation, etc. Also, how are the winds/weather there?

Thanks!

I used to live in Denver and I have moved in and out of casper a few times. I do not think that the night life in Casper is anything to brag about. I am almost 22 yrs old and I find this town to be quite boring. Although there is more to do here than some other smaller cities in wyoming. On the otherhand if you like to fish or go boating or snowmobling or camping or whatever this is a great place to do it. Casper Mountain has a lot of the perks most mountains do and Alcova lake isn't to far away. We also can float down the Platt River which is something you can't really do in Denver. Good luck in your search

And another thing. Yes the wind blows here all the time. If you do deside to move here and you want to avoid the wind, do not buy a house on the far East or South sides of town. Make sure to live down in a valley as the wind generally blows from west to east.
