Yesterday in the 7th and 8th grade environmental science classes I was assisting in, I was able to share some rocks I picked up between Riverton and Dubois, years ago. They are a great example of metamorphic rocks and the kids thought they were pretty neat. (so did their teacher...she said it made her want to go exploring in Wyoming).

Very nice. My grandparents were rock hounds and collected lots of rocks like those. They made a simple inexpensive rock polisher that made them even more attractive.
They mounted an electric motor on a work bench, it had a small pulley on the spindle/shaft. They hung an old tire on the pulley so that one rim of the tire was in the pulley grooves. They placed the rocks with some sand and water inside the tire and plugged the motor in and let it run for a few days. That tumbled the rocks inside the tire and the abrasion of the sand and rocks polished them up real pretty.
