Nurse Jobs
Does anyone know about the need for nurses in Wyoming? After I finish RN school, I wanna move out west. I'm tired of living in south Georgia, but I think I'd miss the green landscape. I'm in my late 30s, single mom of a pre-teen girl, and free to move anywhere I want to. Any suggestion on where in WY I should move would be helpful! Thanks!

If you can get on with one of the travel nurse companies. Then you can travel to the different hospitals on them. They will get the housing and pay good wages. My wife did this for over a year, we went around the U.S. We got to see alot of places, some good, some not so good. Right now housing in Wyoming is scarce. You could work, have a place to stay. And look for more permanent housing. The contracts for nursing stays are from a coulpe weeks to a year or two.

Thanks shadowwalker. I'll look into being a travel nurse in the future, but being a single mom with a daughter in middle school, I can't leave town. Maybe one of these days.....

My wife is a nurse (here in North Carolina) and we just got back from Cheyenne. While we were there we saw lots of ads in the local paper for nurses. A friend who works at the big hospital in town also said they need nurses. You may want to check it out. Cheyenne is a neat town!
Hope this helps!

Try wyoming job service, casper star tribune newspaper. Both on web.
As for hospitals I will name a few that might have web sites. Wyoming Medical center-casper. Fremont county Hospital-riverton.Campbell County hospital-Gillette. Lander Memorial hospital-lander. Sweetwater county hospital-rocksprings. I hope it helps. Also the Wyoming Nursing Association in Cheyenne. Might be able to help.At least the nursing asc. can get you started on licensing. It will take a couple of weeks to over a month to get your wyoming license. I don't know if wyo is a compact state either on liscensing.

I'd try the VA Hospital in Sheridan.
Nice spot, close to even nicer spots
close enough to Montana for a 'road trip' to the mall.
The VA offers great benefits as well as some programs for paying your schooling. It would be a benefit to get into a local VA system while still in school, My sis did that for RN, she continues to work part-time at VA and gets full benefits + they are paying for more schooling.

Banner Health runs several hospitals in Wyoming (and neighboring states) and they're ALWAYS looking for good RNs.
They have a web site at:
