Default Looking for Huntley High School Alumni

Hi. I have been looking for anyone who attended Huntley High School from 1961 to 1965. I would also like to know what happened to the school, because when I tried to add it to Classmates, it doesn't exist anymore.

I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

Default Huntley School

Can't help you on the alumni, but I do know the school closed when all of the area schools consolidated in the 80's. Veteran, Hawk Springs, Lagrange, Yoder and Huntley all became Southeast School in Yoder. I think a business is occupying the building now.

Thank you very much for the info. I will try that school's name in classmates and see what happens.

Well, as I only lived in Huntley from 1980 to present, I'm not sure wich school you went to. If you could let me know where it was located, I can give you updated information....

Default Huntley High School

Huntley High School is a roofing company now, and has been for a long time.
Owned by Nina Seetin(maiden name) and husband.
Consolidated with Granada sometime after 1967.
I graduated 1967 from Huntley.

I went to school at Huntley High School until 1964 when we moved to California. The school was a combined elementary/high school complex and most of the teachers lived in a "compound" on the school grounds. So it was a little before your time. lol But thanks anyway.

The last year I went to Huntley was in 1964 and then we moved to California. I have lost track of my classmates. Some of the names were Faith, Bower, Snedeker, Rupp, Clapp, Derr. That's the only ones I can remember offhand. I have lost my yearbook too so there's no help there.

Thank you for the information. I appreciate it.

I believe the Clapp (Dewey Clapp) that was your classmate was a Science teacher at the consolidated school for years, Southeast High School. I also think I know how to get in touch with the Rupp classmate (Karl Rupp). If you have an email, I can see if I can get in touch with them and have them contact you.

Default Huntley High School Reunions

Huntley High School existed from 1933 - 1980 and all school reunions are held every 5 years in July (0 & 5) at the County Fairgrounds (I think the 3rd Sat is usual). A rather complete roster of all graduates is distributed at the reunions.

Year range on your query suggests you are a '65 graduate. The class roster shows no addresses for 2 graduates that year.

The school had closed and reunions were organized prior to the advent of the internet. The "neighborhood" is still there and about half your class show addresses in the area.

The last reunion included a tour of the old school facilities that are now owned by a small specialty audio manufacturer/assembler.

Post a letter to "Huntley Alumni" with your return address in case the Post Office has been consolidated. The Alumni use a PO Box for reservations, hopefully it's checked periodically. Chances are fair that a mail sorter will get it to someone who will update files. You only risk loss of postage.

The reunion program pleads, "Committee Needs Your Help With Addresses"

Welcome Back & Best Wishes
