New to area and lost...
Hi all,
I am new to the area and having trouble locating things to do. I have done searches online but seem to just miss out on some of the fairs and festivals.
Please help...
Thank you.

I've got to ask--what do you mean "they keep changing me."? I'm going to assume you are in Indian Land, which is where I live. To be honest, there are not too many festivals going on in Indian Land. To keep up with what is going on in the community, I suggest you read the Fort Mill Times, The Lancaster News, and of course the Charlotte Observer (which has a special section three times a week highlighting happenings in York and Lancaster Counties). For happenings in south Charlotte, I sugggest you read Creative Loafing. Some of the shopping areas in south Charlotte have free open air concerts during the summer--check out Balantyne Village, Blakeney, and the Fountains (on Ardrey Kell, past Blakeney). USC-Lancaster has a really cool performing arts series which runs from September through late spring---I notice tickets are on sale for the coming season now. THe Leroy Springs Recreation Complex in Fort Mill and the Gregory Wellness Center on the campus of USC-Lancaster have good programs which might help you get involved in the community. There is an excellent YMCA on Community House Road in the Ballantyne area, only about 3 miles from Indian Land, with lots of good programs. When schools open again in August, you might consider attending Indian Land High School football games, and later basketball. During the winter, think about attending Winthrop University basketball games in Rock Hill.

If you want something fun to do on Saturday, just hop on over to Greenville (1.5 hours down I-85) and you'll have plenty to do. The annual Ritmo Tropical Latin festival will be heating up downtown, Harry Connick Jr. (http://peacecenter.org/show.asp?ProductID=805 - broken link) will be at the Peace Center for the Performing Arts, and the annual Sippin' Safari (broken link) will be happening at the Greenville Zoo in the evening.
