Question Transportation from Airport to Tega Cay

Hi!

My wife and 3 year old son are going to be coming back from a trip, the same weekend I'm out of town. They arrive at Charlotte Airport on a Saturday afternoon. The trick is getting them from the airport back home to Tega Cay.

We're pretty new to the area - we've met quite a few people through play dates and that sort of thing, but still haven't quite gotten to the point where we'd be comfortable asking for that kind of favor. The 3 year old is going to be a handful after the plane ride, my wife will be tired, and.. well, it probably won't be pretty. That's a "good friend" kind of favor, and we just don't have those here yet.

Considered a taxi, but from the airport to Tega Cay would be a chunk of change.. Limo would be even more.. and I'm not sure if there's shuttles or anything down this way.

So I'm wondering if anyone has advice. How do you get Mom and 3 year old from the airport to Tega Cay safely without breaking the bank?

Taxi shouldn't be much more than $60. Rates are set by the city. Tricky part will be getting a car seat for the little one. I would call a couple of the bigger ones and see if they can accommodate. Other than that, not a lot of options!

Ok - thanks! I'll call around. And I guess if all else fails, she could rent a car.. most rental places have available car seats, I think.

I wasn't sure if there was a shuttle or transportation service that came out this way, or what the options were. From everything I could find, there wasn't really much of anything, but never hurts to ask around

I know you don't feel comfortable asking a favor of your new play date parents, but how about offering them the $60 as a dinner out since you will have to pay that for some other transportation!

The pluses here are that they already have a car seat (if they can leave their child home with the other parent) and they would get a chance to have a night out. Perhaps you can sweeten the deal with offering to baby sit while they go out!

Just a thought!

Try Royal Limo, they are in Lake Wylie and offer a very nice service.

Depending how long they'll be gone, why not leave a car at the airport for them. The daily cost of $6 may be cheaper than the other options.

Hopefully they are home by now!

Otherwise they have spent almost 2 years at the airport!
