I am newly graduated from college and starting my first job in the area. I am moving from out of state and do not know anyone. I like living within walking distance of restaurants, etc. Is that type of lifestyle possible in downtown Rock Hill? Is it safe in downtown Rock Hill? If not downtown, what area of Rock Hill do the younger professionals live? Are there certain apartment complexes that I should definitely stay away from? Price Range of rental I am looking for is $650 to $900 per month?

Any opinions and insight would be greatly appreciated.

Rock Hill does not have anything to offer for younger professionals. There is basically nothing much in the downtown, have you visited Rock Hill downtown?

Legacy at Manchester Village, Bradford Park Apartments, Galleria Point town houses are all nice places to live. They are all pretty much off of Dave Lyle Rd and there is a ton of places to eat, whether its something fast or sit down, there is a best buy, target, wal-mart and a decent mall close by among other stores and they would all be in walking distance. Legacy prob has the nicest places to live just a bit pricey but very nice. Galleria has some nice town houses if your looking for that route. Bradford Park is alright, prices are very affordable. but all three of these places are close to everything i listed above, places to shop and eat. I know this because i just moved here not too long ago and have recently looked at the places i listed. Hope this helps you out!!!!

The only issue is that none of those areas are walkable, although those stores and restaurants may be within walking distance. In Rock Hill, you have to have an automobile; no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Legacy at Manchester, great place to live, close to shops and easy access to 77 to get to Charlotte for better nightlife. We rented a 2 bed/2 bath for around $800, newer apartments so they are nice an clean, pool, gym, business center, and theater.

In general though, Rock Hill isn't a very walkable city, just too spread out.

I manage an apartment complex (which I will not name because I'll get in trouble here). Consider apartment complexes along Herlong Avenue surrounding Piedmont Medical Center. You can walk to Luke's Sports bar, Fatz Cafe, Time-Out Sports Bar, Thursday's Too, many fast food restaurants, grocery shopping, YMCA, Blockbuster, much, much more. There are at least three apartment complexes and a few private rental condos in that area in your price range.
