Not that strong. There are a ton of houses here for sale. Seems like anything over $350,000 is hanging around...
I do not know alot about the market, but I see a ton of houses for sale while we are out...
Just my 2 cents...
No I don't think it is as strong as it was two years ago when houses were sold for more than the asking price the day it was put on the market. It isn't anywhere close to being bad though.
There are some houses that have been for sale for a very long time but there is usually something wrong with them. Like a cliff for a back yard or a weird floor plan.
marndt and jenn: This is actually good news for me. I still live in Florida, and we are looking in Baxter. I was in Rock Hill two days ago (visiting relatives). This was the first trip that I didn't make it to Baxter because we were to busy. I need some new pictures for my Baxter web-site. Next time, I come up I'm going to make a video walking down Market Street.
I just signed a lease on a townhome in Baxter - went ahead and signed for 12 months and if my home (s) in FL sell quickly (They should - they're priced right) we'll make due with the tighter quarters than we're used to and try to save some money for our Baxter home.
I'm moving up on 12/1 and my wife and kids are following after Christmas. Can't wait!
awesome. Have you been to Celebration near Disney? It's very much like Baxter. I wrote an essay describing the two. Many of the original Celebration people now or have recently worked for Clear Springs the developer of Baxter. You might want to take a look at my site on baxter.... BaxterSC.com
Here is the link to my article about Baxter and Celebration. It's pretty old. New Urban Observer - Walking the Village of Baxter (http://www.newurbanobserver.com/new-urban-news.php?id=146 - broken link)
Just wondering. I am looking to rent a townhome in Baxter starting in June, with hopes to eventually buy. I have 2 little girls. My parents have lived in Baxter for 8 years and love it. Any advice on finding an affordable townhome that may lease for 6 months with possible extending? I know that kind of community doesn't like renters, but I want my children to be in a safe community like Baxter.

I have seen several town homes either for sale or rent in Baxter. There are not very many so I would suggest riding through there and looking for the signs in the yard or the windows. I have not been through there in 3 weeks but I have seen them.
I saw a couple just below six pence pub.
You sound like a really sweet person.
I am looking to relocate to Baxter this summer. My parents have lived there for 8 years, and love it. I will be moving w/ my little girls and my husband will stay here in miserable Utah, temporarily. We're looking for a small place to lease until he comes back. If you happen to have any connections w/ anyone who may have a rental property in Baxter I would love to hear about it.
I'm a Charlotte girl, but fell in love w/ Baxter after 7 years of visiting my parents there. I can't imagine moving back to anywhere else near Charlotte.
Sincerely,
Jennifer
