I am decorating my home in Fort Mill and I need someone who can make a box cornice for my dining room. I have the material but I have no clue how to make a cornice. I went over to Diane's Designs but she only uses her own material and she was expensive. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.
Thanks

If you want to make a box cornice, you need to frame it first in styrafoam or a cheap grade wood. If you use wood, pad it with cotton batting (available at fabric store) use spray on adhesive. Then cut fabric to size and staple to wood (or glue to sytrafoam) and hang. If you are handy, an easy project. Otherwise, you might want to buy a ready made cornice and cover with your fabric.

LOWES. Saw cornice's at Lowes in Fort Mill this past Saturday. They're in the dept with blinds and window treatments.
Someone had recommended Kim's Alterations to me, so I just called her to check on something and asked if she does other types of sewing such as the kind you describe, and she said yes. Her shop is in Fort Mill at the Crossroads Plaza (the shopping ctr. with Food Lion) at the corner of 160 and Gold Hill Rd. If she can't help you with the cornice, there are several sewing shops in Rock Hill, and I see a couple of them listed in the yellow pages under sewing shops.
