New Thai restaurant in Rock Hill is good!
There is a new Thai restaurant in Rock Hill. It is called Sila.
The location is familiar... Anderson Road. It is the third or fourth Thai restaurant to try this location. This one is good and I hope it can attract enough patrons to keep it here!
Thai food does not seem to be something a lot of people know about. When I mention it to others, they seem to think it is all spicy food. It can be spicy or not depending on what you order. It also is not as heavy as Chinese food.
They have a mixed appetizer dish which is a combination of five different kinds of appetizers they offer. It is a great way to try new things.
They have appetizers, soups, salads, noodle and fried rice dishes, sauteed dishes, curries and authentic Thai specialties. They also have duck and fish dishes.
We had 3 appetizers (the mixed appetizer, fried calamari, a duck filled pancake), Lemon Glass (Tom Yum) soup, and a Basil fried rice dish with pork. All were really good. A caution... the Lemon Glass (Tom Yum) soup is spicy! Just like I like it!!
So, if you like Thai food or want to give it a try, please try them. We don't want to lose this one!!

The reviews look good (unless it was you) for their green curry. I might take my wife there, it seems there aren't many Thai choices in the area. I went to Siam Garden and it was really good though.
No menu here, but the hours are listed.

Nope.... the curry review is not me!!! But I did see that online when I was searching for their menu.
I need to experiment with curry dishes. I tend to stay away from them.

We went back for lunch today. They have a lunch menu, but we order a main course from their dinner menu. I like to have enough to take home for later!
We tried an appetizer that had a mild curry... roti pancake which is dipped in a chicken massaman sauce (curry). It was really good. Thanks for encouraging me to try some. I will try a main entree curry dish next time.
My husband made a meal out of appetizers. He had to get the duck roll again, his calamari, shrimp rolls and the roti pancake curry dish. I added fresh rolls (like a summer roll... not fried) and a entree of Pad Thai. YUM!!
The waiter brought us a small side salad to try. I was surprised how fresh all of the ingredients were. Many restaurants serve salads that look like they were from yesterday!! Not this one. I don't think of salad in a Thai restaurant, but they do have different salads on the menu.
All in all, I am ready to go back!

I went to Sila Thai with my wife on Saturday night and really liked it. My wife ordered the red curry vegetables and said it was delicious. I had the Pad Thai and thought it was very good. Not the best Thai I have had, but very good. One odd thing, the waiter said the Pad Thai was only spiced mild, and if I wanted it spicier I could add chili pepper on my own. I have never encountered that, and have been to 30+ different Thai houses. But I would definitely go back again.
We also had the Golden Tofu appetizer and was very impressed with it. It had a nice crunchy coating and the sauce was delicious.
I hope they make it, we were the only people there around 6:30. When we left there were a couple other people pulling in and one lady asked me if it was any good.
I would recommend to them they have their employees park their cars in the lot out front to make it look busier than it is. Thanks for the recommendation!

Well... we stopped in at Sila today for lunch and found new management!
I was a little concerned but the food was really good!! They have expanded the menu and made it easier to understand the various selections.
Again, I am going to recommend them. We tried the Thai dumplings and they are the best we have eaten. My Tom Yum soup was still delicious as was the Pad Thai.
I was excited to see Mee-Krob on the menu. That is an appetizer that is sticky and sweet fried noodles with shrimp. I haven't seen that for years. It was also good.
We also had the fried calamari which was very good and not greasy at all. The winter roll appetizer was also good but a different flavor than a fried spring roll. The last item we tried was the duck roll appetizer. Tasty!!
So, try them again or go for the first time!! Good food!!
