Of course Lancaster Co. should be included in the new forum. Indianland is probably the fastest growing community in the entire region. But please, contrary to what a previous poster wrote, Indianland now has its own zip code, 29707.

29707 is the new zip code that covers Indian Land but it hardly has made it any less confusing for someone new to the area. Folks mail will still be postmarked Fort Mill..and is clearly not what the residents of Indian Land had hoped for. We have a similar situation here in Tega Cay. We don't have our own zip code in Tega Cay...we in fact use one of Fort Mill's zip codes (29708). So often times are mail will be sent to us as a Fort Mill address. But where it is a little less confusing is that we are at least in the same county (York County)....versus Fort Mill (which is in York County) and Indian Land (which is in Lancaster County).

Fort Mill Times — Sealed: Indian Land's ZIP (broken link)

...this is also one of the main reasons I originally suggested that Lancaster County be added to York County

No, the mail from Indianland, Fort Mill, and Tega Cay will continue to be postmarked "Charlotte, NC," as it has for many years. However, I will say that the effort of SOME Indianland residents to have the USPS establish an independent post office in the Indianland community is futile. The USPS is not in the habit of considering the requests or needs of local communities, and they are not the slightest bit concerned about county lines.
