I voted for York County as the sub-forum because I, too, believe that choice offers the appropriate geographical coverage.

Smile You should have the correct subheading...

You should call this area the "Olde English District," which is exactly what the correct name is. The "Olde English District" actually includes 7 counties: York, Chester, Lancaster, Fairfield, Chesterfield, Union, and Kershaw (Olde English District, a tourism district in South Carolina).

York County is the biggest, but all of the other counties are very interesting and have much to recommend to people as well.

I know Chester is rather small, but we should remind everyone that Richburg is getting bigger and bigger and that new development by Billy Graham's cousin will be in Richburg, which is in Chester County, and will be huge.

Union is close to both Charlotte and Greenville/Spartanburg. Fairfield County is closest to Columbia. Kershaw is close to Lancaster, and we all know how Lancaster is growing. Chesterfield is the most rural of the counties but still has beautiful affordable homes.

Again, let's call this area what it is actually named, the "Olde English District." I think that is the most appropriate thing to do...

That's pretty similar to what I said...but I do like the addition of Lancaster. Nobody will know what the Olde English district is. I didn't until 30 seconds ago.

York County would definitely be the most appropriate considering everything happening in the county would need to be consolidated under that governmental body.

Apparently the poll is closed so I was unable to add my vote.

Thanks for voting. Several people mentioned including Lancaster in the new sub-forum, so I will create a new poll specifically about this issue.
