What major banks are out there besides BOA and Wachovia?

Charlotte / Fort Mill area?

BB & T just bought Coastal Federal and the merge looks like it will be complete in 2 more weeks. I suspect they will be buying out some of the smaller banks too.

Charlotte is the number two banking center in the nation by assets, so you will have no problem finding a bank. However, I recommend credit unions strongly over banks and there are plenty of those too.
