Sadly, due to a previous short sale, I cannot buy a property for my mother whos moving down here, so im looking for a good place to look for rentals. When you search a site like apartments.com, you get the generic 2 or 3 managed apartments and when you go to fortmilltimes or charlotte observer, it just send you to apartments.com. Do I need to go pick up a paper and look? Where are good places to find other apartments? Ive looked on CraigsList obviously, wasnt sure if I was missing something.
At the grocery store entrance you can find those Real Estate magazines and apartment magazines too. I think I noticed apartment mags in the racks at the front doors.

Got one at Harris Teeter today. I would like to find some from private parties... maybe I need to buy an actual newspaper to see them?
That may be a good idea. You are right if you look online at the classifieds The Lake Wylie Pilot, Fort Mill Times and the Enquirer Herald (Clover) all takes you to the RH Herald which doesn't have any apartments except that apartments.com. As does the Myrtle Sun and State newspapers. They are all owned by McClatchy and must have a contract with apartments.com.
I have no idea where you could find apartments from private parties.
