First off Congrats mercedesmom!
Now in regard to the hospital in Rock Hill (Piedmont/Tenet)...I am sure this is probably not the sort of news you were hoping to hear. I am afraid I am just one more...that did not have a good experiece there either (when we first moved here...were were told by several people...if given a choice don't go to Piedmont).
If I were in your shoes...my choice would be:
Carolina's Medical Center/Levine Children's Hospital
About Us
Wishing you all the best!
Now in regard to a hospital in Fort Mill, SC....it may be years before we see one here.

You might want to check into Presbyterian in Matthews, it is just off of 485. They have a very good women's center. It is by far the nicest hospital I've been in. Women's health maternity and pregnancy care, High risk pregnancy treatment
Congrats and I hope this help
PS avoid PMC at all cost. Everyone from my wife's church had major problems with their deliveries there. My Grandfather was there last year and we arranged to have a family member with him every 24/7. He was a diabetic and thankfully we were there to check to make sure his meals were ok, several times they were not.

I had my last child (and tubal) done at Piedmont Oct,2006. I had excellent care and so did my daughter. I also had a baby at CMC-Pineville in April,2005. The only thing I didn't like at Piedmont, was that you had to move. Unlike CMC, you have a labor/delivery room, and then move to the mother/newborn floor. I was just barely up and walking from the epidural when they moved me. But then I also had complaints about CMC, it took them forever to get my paperwork done for me to go home. The food is better at Piedmont, and you order what you want from a menu. They seemed much more nursing friendly at Piedmont, my daughter refused to eat for almost 26 hours, they brought me a pump, and worked with us both extensively! You should really do tours at both places to see which one feels right for YOU though.

I thought, and I need to confirm this with him, that my brother and his wife chose CMC over piedmont because CMC has a neonatel department and Piedmont doesn't. If, god forbid, anything were to go wrong with the baby, everything is right there where if you delivered at Piedmont the baby would have to be transferred to CMC.

I agree with Jenn02674, my sister in law just had her baby 8/28. She had some complications, but because of the quick reaction and staff at CMC everything turned out ok. She had some breathing problems and was immediately taken down for a ct scan to see if it was a blood clot. We are thankfully for their efforts because both mom and baby are doing fine. I compare that to my wife's cousin who had both of her babies in piedmont. Both of her delieveries were mishandled by their staff.

I avoid Piedmont due to its reputation. I've only had to go to the emergency room once since living in Rock Hill (thank God), and decided to go to CMC-Pineville and I was pleased with the service there.

My sister just had a baby at Piedmont in the new women's center. While the emergency room may leave much to be desired, the women's center is great! My son was born with a cleft lip and palate so they had an extra doctor on hand just for this. You do have to move to a different room after the delivery but the new room is much better for visitors and such as the first is specialized for the delivery. You are given your menu to order meals and this is much improved from what it used to be. The nurses were all extremely nice and very willing to do whatever is necessary. I've known many others that have delivered there as well and have had excellent experiences. So despite what others may tell you, you don't go to Piedmont to die.

CMC's new urgent care will be open in about a year at exit 88. They will also have other medical offices there. There is a CMC urgent care in Ballantyne too for those on that side of FT Mill.
