OK - here's what I don't get - if you were going to miss all those places so much, why'd you move to a place that doesn't have them? Also, what's the big deal driving 15 minutes to get to these places? I just never understand when people here complain that there's no Target, movie theater, etc. All you have to do is hop in the car for a few minutes!!! IMO, Fort Mill has the best of both worlds - can find the rural roads, greenways, and lots of trees and quiet, but have tons of shopping within 15-20 minutes!!

This is what I have been trying to SAY! Don't Charlotte Fort Mill! And Fort Mill had a movie theatre at one point. It closed in the late 70s/early 80s when theatres were not doing well. Ironically, the advent of the vcr again peaked interest in movie theatres.

Wow, didn't know that. City developers need to make that happen ASAP.

Why is that?....is 10 to 15 minutes really do far to drive to one???
Come on folks...if each person was granted a wish to have at least one thing built into their new hometown that it currently doesn't have...we would get to the point where this is no longer the Fort Mill, or Tega Cay, or Indian Land, etc...that drew us here in the first place. And I quarantee after all is said and done, and all the wishes have been granted..the next new person into the area would still want something different.
Can't you all just enjoy what you have...heck its changing fast enough already!

Be careful of what you wish for....Where I live (NJ)..we have all the conveniences you could wish for..We have 3 Lowes/Home Depot in 5 miles, pizza parlors, fast food, coffee houses, multiple grocery stores, target, walmart, big malls..you name it, we have it..The developers have "concreted" the land and the town "fathers" greedily count the tax dollars coming in.. We have lost our beautiful trees, meadows, and farms..our wildlife is losing their food supply & are forced to expose themselves to find food in backyards (& people complain "how dare the deer eat my hosta!") I find it very sad. So be careful what you wish for..I would much rather drive the extra 10-15 minutes & enjoy the beauty of the countryside on that drive than see trees disappear, wildlife dead on the roadside just for the convenience..just my opinion..

I definitely don't want Fort Mill to turn into an extension of Sw Charlotte.
