Default Now that you are here (FtMill) - what do you feel is missing?

business wise?

I know there are dry cleaners and churches and places for the kids to go and play - but what dol you feel Ft Mill still needs or is missing businesswise?

Default A lot, but it's all in Rock Hill or Pineville

I miss having a Wal-Mart, Kohls, Michaels, Barnes and Noble, Bath and Body Works, and the major restaurant chains (Ruby Tues, Fridays, Don Pablos, Olive Garden, Ryans, Golden Corral, etc, etc, etc). You get the picture!

But, on the plus side, all of that is available in Rock Hill and/or Pineville and most can be reached in 10-15 minutes. Though as someone who eats out a lot, it is a bit of a pain to drive into Rock Hill just to eat. So, we've been trying some local eateries and some aren't bad.

I don't think Rock Hill is too far to drive - 10-15 is not bad in my opinion! In NoNJ I had to drive 30 minutes to get to most of those stores. So 10-15 min. is awesome for me!

My husband and I miss having a REALLY GOOD deli. McAlister's is a chain - but we want a good locally run deli.

No way. Keep the chain restaurants out! More mom and pop places. I'd like to see a good local pizza place. Fratelli in Baxter is pretty good - but there service is very inconsistent.

A WEGMANS grocery store and wawa mini marts. The comforts of my old home. I am still learning my way around the places here.

I also would love an AC Moore or other craft store in town, more places to eat both chain and not.

I would also love a craft store, and an Ulta. And kids' clothing stores - so we don't have to go to the Arboretum.

What's missing from Ft Mill (my area) is the crime and noise! But I am not complaining. I am also in the part of Fot Mill that is not far from Ballantyne (less than 10 minute drive) so I have those restaurants there too, which are very good, but some are pricey (at least most are locally owned). I honestly am glad we don't have a lot of the things mentioned because they would bring some problems.

The Peach Stand if you are talking about that type of deli. The owner is from NY.

You all better be careful what you wish for. Isn't it enough you will soon have a big ol' Wal Mart in your backyard (Tega Cay) ....which will surely bring all sorts of other stuff with it. Heck I moved away from all that...if I still wanted it...I would have stayed where I came from. I am more than happy to drive to whatever (it's not like we are out in the boonies here).
