IL does not really have its own government as it is not an incorporated municiplaity and that is likely why. There is no "Indian land" address either as they use FM's post office.

The York County Sheriff maintains a good site. Family Watchdog keeps their site up-to-date. It's easy to use ... enter a street, city, state and it maps the area ... you can click on the different colored squares and a picture of the offender pops up ... tabs across the picture has conviction info.

By the way this is not the ghetto by any means.
358 with in 1 mile.
Fort mill dose not seem so bad to me.

As the famous quote goes: Knowledge is Power! This is why I bring this sickening subject up once again.

I started this thread some time back..and indicated at the time of my post that there were (0) Sex Offenders within Tega Cay. It was brought to my attention the other day that this is no longer the case (current registered offenders are now 2 for Tega Cay).

I have run a list from the York County Sheriffs Dept website showing all listing offenders within York County (see below). You are also able to do your own search by home address, business, school, town, etc. If you are interested the two that reside in Tega Cay are #48 and #241 on the York County list.

I also strongly suggest the anyone that lives within York County sign up for the OffenderWatch email alerts (the following link explains about this program):

And for the folks that live in Indian Land, SC (Lancaster County) you may find some of the offenders that live in your area on the York County list (due to zip codes). Personally if I lived in that area I would want to see if there is a way that the Lancaster County Sheriff Dept. can have a list of sex offenders on their website for that area only (that includes Indian Land, SC) otherwise it can be very confusing looking between York and Lancaster counties.

I would also like to add that not only do you have to be very careful about where this people live, but where they work. I have imtimate experience with helping put someone on the sex offender list. To say our justice system is screwed up would be an under statement. And as far as the different titles....it is all hogwash really. These people are bad and the title means nothing. Like the other person said 'Knowledge is Power'. The best thing is just be aware of your surroundings!! For instance...the man who owns the Karate Studio on 521 in Indian Land is on the list. But he does not live in the area you are searching so you would not know it if you are inocently signing someone up for Karate or exercise classes.

When it comes to your kids and yourselves just check people out......it only takes a minute!

Wow, JLDM, it would seem that being on a sex offender list would somehow automatically prevent you from being able to work with kids at all. I know that kids are drawn to karate like moths to a flame...especially if the Karate Kid has played on TBS recently.

Luckily my son goes to Springs Complex for his karate classes and NOT to the 521 dogo.
