They are only using SC to get through the obsurd traffic on 485 through Pineville. What ever idiot designed that lane to end at South Blvd should be taken out back for beating. Since NC won't do anything about the traffic issues, SC has to suffer and spend money to widen thier roads.

here's some links on your last point:
Proposed I-485 expansion could include toll road | WCNC.com Charlotte
I-485 widening pushed back a bit as scope increases | South Charlotte Weekly
I-485 widening to start next summer
Widening of I-485 coming soon, toll future unclear | South Charlotte Weekly
In summary:
They plan to expand the lanes but at first was thinking of putting in tolls. They looked at what's going on in Atlanta and decided that it might not be a great idea since it's failing there. However, they haven't given up on the idea...
Methinks that in the end there will be more traffic.
Now, about this whole NC drivers using SC roads...
I wonder how much of thought has been given to the economic benefit of having interstate commerce. Think about it, you think folks from NC just come into SC for Gas only since its cheaper? Even if they did, most stations make their money from the store not the gas so I'm sure they are making some money off drivers from that which in turn generates sales tax. So in the end it benefits both states since some SC drivers go into Charlotte for commerce and work. Sure it can be annoying to have someone who's not familiar with the area driving around like a turtle either listing for their GPS to tell them to make a turn or looking for the street signs (LOL - signs). However, last I noticed we live in the US and not the Korean peninsula where they have a nice cozy separation which is littered with land mines, barbed wire, and who knows what else. While it is an extreme example, my point is that we shouldn't get too worked up about who (state wise) drives where. I'd rather focus more about controlling the size of traffic (limit trucks onto certain roads [weight restrictions], timed zones for speed's, etc).

Then SC should put tolls on the NC vehicles! It's a never ending battle and no one really wins in the end.
Toll roads also don't make the money people think they make.

Maybe Charlotte needs to charge an extra fee to people that dont live here and pay taxes for things like football tickets etc. We need to get some of the free loaders money .

Yet anyone who lives in South Carolina and works in Charlotte; has NC State income tax taken out of their check and has to file a NC State tax return at the end of the year. People who shop or dine in Charlotte; pay NC sales tax on their dinner/purchase. You go to a Panther game or concert you they pay NC taxes on that purchase.
Sounds to me that you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to who free loads off of who.

My point is the charlotte property owners pay taxes and those taxes build things like a football stadium. The people from SC and other places can buy tickets for the same price the people who paid to build it can. NOT FAIR

The football stadium was not built with tax payer monies and is owned by Jerry Richards. The stadium is not owned by the city/county. Hence why they sold PSL's when it was built; which helped to finanance the building cost and upkeep.
Sounds more like you have an issue with what the city/county government uses tax payer dollars to build. Which is no one's fault except for the people who keep voting them in office.
Putting a tax or fee on purchases in Charlotte; on people who don't live there will a) cause people to shop elsewhere and b) nearly impossible to enforce. I can't see retail stores wanting to open up a location in Charlotte if they have to start checking everyone's ID when they make a purchase and then charge them a different price due to an added tax. All this would do is cause Charlotte to loose more tax dollars as people who don't live in Charlotte start shopping closer to home.
The reason why people keep moving out of Charlotte/Mecklenburg is partly due to lower property taxes in the surrounding counties and some of the other counties having better schools. What benefit is there to live in Charlotte; when you can have the same type/size house and pay 1/2 the property tax in one of the other counties?
Again the only people to blame are the people who keep voting in the people in charge of Charlotte/Mecklenburg.

People that make their living in charlotte but run back across the county line every night are migrant workers who dont pay for all of the services that they leech from the people who live here and do pay taxes. For example when traffic backs up with cars from gastonia and rock hill and monroe etc etc going to a ball game the CHARLOTTE POLICE have the job of dealing with it and guess who is paying them? hint Its not gastonia lol This is just one of many examples. I guess the taxpayers didnt pay for the bobcats arena either. case and point.......

The Bobcat Arena is again; a problem with the people who were elected; not the people who use it that don't live in Charlotte. Just like the Nascar Hall of Fame and White Water Center. All these were built because the people in charge; i.e. the people that the residences of Charlotte/Mecklenburg elected into office went ahead and authorized them to be built. You need to start blaming your elected officials instead of everyone who doesn't live in Charlotte/Mecklenburg.
Plus; if it wasn't for the people in the other counties, i.e. Concord; Gaston; Union; Lancaster; York; etc.; do you actually think that Charlotte would be the city that is currently is right now? Having two pro sports teams? Without the people who live in the other counties; Charlotte wouldn't have either. They used the demographics from the whole area; not just Charlotte when making their decisions to put the two teams in Charlotte. Charlotte by itself would not be able to support the sports team.
