I have heard talk about how much more expensive water is here then it was for people who moved here from the North...

So my question to you York County residents...How bad is your bill?

My water bill outside of the town limits in Fort Mill is cheap. it is the sewer that is expensive. Our first water bill for one month and two people was $72.25 including sewer. $50 of it was for sewer, 22 for water. We conserve as much as possible too.

It's definitely expensive. We live in the town of Fort Mill. Our lot is about a 1/3 of an acre. I ran our sprinklers quite a bit before the water restrictions were put in place and our most recent bill was $220. The sewer portion of our bill is higher than the water portion.

I don't know what each was specifically (water and sewer pretty much go together so it doesn't mean anything to me to seperate them) but my last bill was over $110 and I have a tiny, like .10 acre lot. It won't be as much this month, hopefully, because of the water restrictions.

In the winter when I am not watering my grass, it runs about $50-60 a month.

I'd bet that at least 60-70 per cent was sewer though, which is tough to conserve on. FM's sewer is connected to Rock Hill, which is why it is high. I will still take the sewer anyday over a tank or a pump.

I live in Tega Cay my bill before the restrictions with watering once a day .44acre lot was 280.00 ( a month) and quite a few neighbors were higher. 1/2 was water and 1/2 was sewer.

OMGosh! I am not sure if I should say this now or not???...after seeing what barbjf is paying.

But I too live in Tega Cay, SC. I gathered my last 4 bills and came up with an average of $80.42 per month. This is through the Tega Cay Water Service. My current bill due this month is $88.34 (of which $23.62 is water distribution chg - $30.97 is York Cnty Supply chg - $33.02 is Sewer, the remaining few cents are a SC DHEC Fee and York Cnty base charge). This is for a 3400 sq ft home on a 1/3 acre.

We pay an average of $60/month in Fort Mill. We paid a bit more (maybr $80/mo) when we were watering our lawn but stopped that as soon as we realized our lawn was gonna die in the heat. We have a separate line for irrigation, so I think it is about $40 for sewer and $20 for irrigation.

Yeah I know but unless you have a seperate irrigation meter the two go hand in hand. As water goes up sewer automatically goes up. I don't have an irrigation system, just use sprinklers, and don't plan on getting one any time soon since they are so darn expensive to install.

Don't know since I can't seem to get a bill from these people??????
Another XX for South Carolina.

I have lived at my residence since August 9th. The water bill went into my name in the middle of July, I have called, and emailed for the water company to come out read my meter and send me a bill. I actually kept the email response from them....to date? No bill.

I advised the water company, due to their incompetency, that if they end up sending me a 300.00 bill, I will have to spread the payments out, especially since I have written communication from these people, in September, that they were coming to read my meter and send me a bill....4 weeks later? no bill.

I'm at my wits end with these people.

Mrs P who's scratching her head wondering why they don't want their $$$$$ ?
