Default Where to Focus

My wife and I are coming down next weekend froom New Hampshire. She has a great opportunity in Charlotte. We only have a 1 day to hit the area this time around. here is what I would love! Lots of kids (ours our 5&7), larger lots 1-2 acres, 3500sqft range, can spend up to 450k. Good schools are a must.

I figure that Fort Mill is a great option, but what developments with that should we focus on? Also, if given the choice, would you live North, South East or West of Charlotte?

Thanks,
Frank

I responded to one of your other threads in regard to the Fort Mill area.

On your other question...where if given a choice, would we/I live in N, S, E, or W, Charlotte...ummmm...none of the above...we were given a choice...and we gladly picked Tega Cay, SC

If we were to move back to Charlotte, we'd move to the Mountain Island Lake area in the NW. One of our biggest criteria is the commute, and there just isn't anywhere else in Charlotte where we could get what we want and not spend too much time in the car. I define 'too much time' as consistently more than 1/2 hour AFTER I deliver the kids to their daytime destinations. That is a growing area of Charlotte. South Charlotte and Union County are growing, too, but not in a good way. In a traffic, stripmall, and overcrowded schools way. Just my opinion, many others love that area.
