I live In Waxhaw. It is the greatest place I have ever lived. Prices are actually going DOWN because there are so many homes for sale right now. You can get an awesome deal on a huge, beautiful house, your kids will go to the best schools in the county and you will be half an hour from Charlotte. In regards to Wal Mart, Waxhaw has a small country feeling to it. A Wal Mary would ruin our small town feeling and cause MANY traffic problems. Let me know if you have any other questions about Waxhaw, I just moved here 2 years ago.

The Walmart issue was more about image than anything else. It didn't take long for the Waxhaw council to approve Prescot, which will bring almost 500k sq ft of retail space in less than 5 miles from where the Walmart was going to go. The Waxhaw town council killed the small town feeling a long time ago when they approved Millbridge, Prescot, The Oaks, Alma Village and Cureton.

Actually it was Waxhaw and Marvin. Monroe has a Walmart. Marvin's case was that the space was too small to support the proposed SuperCenter. The back of the store, would be only 70 feet from the back of some folks houses. In both cases it was more about image too. Who want's a sleezy Walmart in their back yards? Its funny though, Waxhaw just recently approved a 500k Sq ft retail project less than 4 miles from where the Walmart site was. This is 250k sq ft more than what Walmart was proposing. This would be on the same two lane road that they all said was too small to handle the traffic....go figure.

I've lived here Lancaster County, off and on for most of my life, with a small break of say 15 years..lol.. anyway, Pineville, was dirt and a dinner theater, when I left, Indian Land was just a pasture, as was a good bit of lancaster county. If you buy on US 521 around Indian Land and heading South twards Lancaster, and can afford to sit on it for awhile, You will be amazed at the kind of return you will get on it in say the next 10 years or so. Now is the time if ever to buy.

Just down the US 521, in lancaster from the New Aldi, is a real nice lot or lots I should say for sale, I was looking at it the other day while I was getting my oil changed, there at the new oil change shop on 521. I'd say the lot or lots are around 170' all frontage on 521 and connects to a back street, dont really know the name of that street , however this would make a great spot for a restaurant, or a small business and you can't beat the location. Its in between the gas station at the corner of University, and the new loob shop there on 521...I wish we would get more restaurants, est..here in town locally instead of all the talk in Indianland!

I know , I know its the hot trend right now....but I'm telling you its heading south into lancaster itself..
