I just had a new HVAC System installed in my home. Although all of the government rebates from years past are no longer, just a reminder that local power and (some) gas companies are still offering small rebates. Even though I have a gas system, I still qualified for a $200 rebate from the Duke Energy SmartSaver program. I got several proposals and none of the contractors realized you still qualify even if you go with gas heat, as long as the AC system is 14SEER or higher with Variable speed fan.
Just wanted to remind people to look and see what is offered from your utility companies. Even though I spent enough on my system to buy a nice used car, it was still helpful to get the $200 rebate.
