What being built on Pleasant Rd? (Fort Mill, York: 2014, apartment complex, condos) - Rock Hill - Fort Mill - York - Tega Cay - Lancaster - City-Data Forum

I was driving south on Pleasant Rd just below Gold Hill and saw where they are clearing the land.

Does anyone know what's going in there?

I know Britax is moving to near that area but not sure if they have started construction.

I think it's the new Publix Grocery Store.

No, it's not the grocery store. That is on the corner. This is just a qtr mile down Pleasant from Gold Hill intersection.

About a year ago, they were talking about putting a 55+ apartment complex, don't know if that is still the plan.

After spending some time on York County's GIS system, the lot in question is owned by Fort Mill Apartments, LLC. Taking a wild stab in the dark, it looks like yet another apartment complex is going in. Just what Pleasant Knoll Elementary, currently frozen enrollment, needs is a source of more kids!

I hope sal707 is right about the 55+ condos. The schools are already too crowded.

I know they are building a new school in Tega Cay and the property behind Pleasant Knolls has been selected for another middle school by 2014. Hopefully, they will plan to widen the roads to accept the higher volumes of traffic.
