The York County Sheriff's Office has issued an altert to area law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for a gold or yellow Ford SUV after a complaint from a Baxter Village woman spurred concerns about someone trying to lure children to such a vehicle.

A Richards Crossing woman filed a complaint with the sheriff's office Tuesday, telling a deputy about possibly suspicious activity involving four adults in a newer model Ford Explorer with a light-colored license plate on that street. The woman said she was told by her daughter that the adults in the SUV were "trying to lure children over to the car," according to the report.

The child's mother told a deputy that an adult friend of hers provided the description of the vehicle.

The deputy wrote in the report that he told the mother "we would look for the SUV" and that "A BOLO was given out to surrounding agencies."

Anyone who believes they see a vehicle fitting this description can call the sheriff's office at 803-628-3059.
